Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during operations East of PERONNE on the night of 18th September 1918. During the attack a platoon was held up by strong enemy resistance. The Platoon Commander being a casualty, C.S.M. Angus, realising the situation, dashed forward under heavy fire, took command of the platoon, and gallantly led them forward, captured the position, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy; this action cleared up the situation. The advance was then continued, and, after heavy fighting, the objective was reached. That when a further attack had to be launched, his work of getting forward ammunition and bombs and guiding carrying parties through very heavy enemy shell fire, and his example to his comrades, was of the utmost value and assisted greatly to the success of the operation.'
