'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Pte. COOPER did valuable work during period 3/10/17 to 10/10/17 at BROODSEINDE RIDGE and although twice wounded and the sole survivor of his gun team, on the morning of the 9/10/17, he kept his gun in action in response to S.O.S. Signals, and remained in position until relieved on 10/10/17.'
