Meritorious Service Medal 'The Quartermaster's department of the company has always been in a highly satisfactory state owing to the organising ability and constant devotion to duty of C.Q.M.S. CORBETT. Untiring in his efforts, he leaves no stone unturned to ascertain and secure the requirements of his Company. When the Battalion is in the line, C.Q.M.S. CORBETT has always satisfactorily supplied his Company, personally supervising the distribution of rations, often under heavy fire. On occasions when ration limbers have been destroyed, and when ration dumps have been shelled, he has been of the utmost assistance in successfully keeping parties from becoming disorganised. During the advance near VILLERS BRETONNEUX, East of AMIENS on 8th August 1918, he moved forward with the Battalion in order to personally select locations for Company ration dumps. Subsequently when bringing up the rations, he was wounded. He has always been of the greatest assistance to his Company Commander, and an example of soldierly qualities and devotion to duty.'
