Embarked Sydney on HMAT 'Aeneas', 20 December 1915; allotted to 54th Bn, 16 February 1915 and taken on strength, Tel-el-Kebir.

Embarked Alexandria on HT 'Caledonian' and proceeded to join the British Expeditionary Force, 19 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 29 June 1916.

Killed in action, France, 20 July 1916. Buried in Military Cemetery Rue de Bois 4.5 Miles Southwest of Armentieres. Refer to May Sheet 36 Square N.Z.D.39.
