Military Medal

'Is brought under notice in respect of a report received from the O/C 4th Australian Divisional Pack Transport Troop in the following terms: "I wish to bring to your notice the gallant conduct of the undermentioned man and recommend that he be awarded a Military Medal in an immediate Award List. This man, in a pack mule convoy which came under shell fire, showed great courage and coolness. He collected animals which had broken loose and were in danger of running in the line of fire of our own 18 pounder guns, during a counter attack on the evening of the 26th September, 1917. He had his clothes torn to pieces by an animal colliding with him, but continued on with his work and made four trips forward with water carrying mules on that night."'
