War service: Egypt, Western Front Admitted to No 2 Australian Stationary Hospital, Ismailia, 11 April 1916(conjunctivitis); discharged to duty, 22 April 1916. Admitted to 31st General Hospital, Port Said, from 4th Scottish Horse Field Ambulance, 18 May 1916 (not yet diagnosed). Admitted to 3rd Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 2 June 1916 (pyrexia, unknown origin); transferred to Convalescent Depot, Ras el Tin, 5 June 1916 (influenza); to 21st General Hospital, Alexandria, 16 June 1916 (diptheria); discharged to duty, 4 August 1916. Transferred by Ambulance Train from 24th Stationary Hospital, Port Said, 2 October 1916 (enteric: mild), and admitted to 14th General Hospital, Abbassia; discharged to Base Details, 12 October 1916. Embarked Alexandria for England (date not recorded). Proceeded overseas to France, 4 January 1917, and marched in to Australian General Base Depot, Etaples.
