Medals

Military Medal

'For fine work done when his Company was changing from one position in the trenches to another on the morning of 6th November, 1916, after the attack on GIRD Trench, and the MAZE the previous day. Although the shelling was very severe Sergeant CRAIG was largely instrumental in rallying and keeping the Company together. To do this he found it necessary to move backward and forward along the top of the parapet for considerable distances, gravely exposing himself to danger but showing a fine example of coolness and courage to the men.'
