Military Cross 'During the period 30th September - 1st October 1918, in the operations against the enemy positions near Bellicourt, he displayed great courage and initiative. During the advance he collected about fifty men of another unit and led them forward with the battalion. He turned a captured field gun on the enemy, who were holding Nauroy, and fired thrity rounds point blank at another battery.'
