Distinguished Conduct Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack south of Vendhuile on 29 September, 1918. Throughout the operation his battery was under heavy artillery and machine gun fire. At one time, when his and another detachment were blown out, he showed great courage and determination in reorganizing new detachments, and got his gun very quickly into action again.'
