On leave to United Kingdom, 20 August 1917; rejoined unit from leave, 4 September 1917.

Wounded in action, 21 September 1917; admitted to Casualty Clearing Station, 20 September 1917 (shrapnel wound and fracture to left arm); transferred to 55th General Hospital, 21 September 1917; to England, 6 November 1917; admitted to Colchester Military Hospital, England, 7 November 1917; transferred to 3rd Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 30 November 1917; discharged from hospital and granted leave, 10 December to 24 December 1917; marched in to Weymouth Command Depot, 24 December 1917.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Euripides' from London, 30 January 1918; disembarked Melbourne, 21 March 1918; discharged, 10 June 1918.
