Embarked Sydney, 9 November 1916; disembarked Devonport, England, 9 January 1917; marched in to Reserve Brigade Australian Artillery, Larkhill, 10 January 1917.

Proceeded overseas to France, 25 September 1917; taken on strength, 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column, in the field, 1 October 1917.

Wounded in action, 6 November 1917 (gun shot wound, right arm), admitted to 3rd Australian Field Ambulance same day, and transferred to Casualty Clearing Station; to 20th General Hospital, Camiers, 7 November 1917; to England, 8 November 1917, and admitted same day to Graylingwell War Hospital, Chichester. Transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 2 January 1918; discharged to No 3 Command Depot, 7 January 1918.

Marched in to Overseas Training Brigade, Longbridge Deverill, 9 April 1918; marched in to Reserve Brigade Australian Artillery, Heytesbury, 19 April 1918.

Proceeded overseas to France, 30 april 1918; rejoined unit, in the field, 9 May 1918

Transferred to 4th Field Artillery Brigade, 10 June 1918, and taken on strength, 12th Battery.

Admitted to 58th Casualty Clearing Station, 28 October 1918 (influenza); transferred to 9th General Hospital, Rouen, 30 October 1918; to No 2 Convalescent Depot, 2 November 1918; to Base Depot, Havre, 18 November 1918; rejoined unit, in the field, 2 December 1918.
