Proceeded overseas to France, 25 September 1917; taken on strength, 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column, in the field, 1 October 1917. Wounded in action, 6 November 1917 (gun shot wound, right arm), admitted to 3rd Australian Field Ambulance same day, and transferred to Casualty Clearing Station; to 20th General Hospital, Camiers, 7 November 1917; to England, 8 November 1917, and admitted same day to Graylingwell War Hospital, Chichester. Transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 2 January 1918; discharged to No 3 Command Depot, 7 January 1918. Marched in to Overseas Training Brigade, Longbridge Deverill, 9 April 1918; marched in to Reserve Brigade Australian Artillery, Heytesbury, 19 April 1918.
