Military Medal 'During the operations on 8th August, 1918, east of VILLERS BRETONNEUX, near AMIENS, when part of our line was held up by enemy machine gun fire, this N.C.O. showed great coolness and courage. Accompanied by one man he outflanked the enemy post, killing two and taking the remainder of the garrison prisoners. During the operations the following day he showed most conspicuous gallantry, and set a fine example to all ranks by his cheerfulness, and courage. He was wounded during the attack on RAINECOURT on 11th August, 1918.'
