Proceeded from Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 17 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 24 June 1916.

Admitted to 36th Casualty Clearing Station, 21 November 1916 (pyrexia, unknown origin); transferred by Ambulance Train No 24 to 12th General Hospital, Rouen, 25 November 1916; to 2nd Convalescent Depot, 2 December 1916; to England, 13 February 1917. Marched in to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 17 February 1917.

Commenced return to Australia from Devonport on board HT 'Runic', 4 May 1917 (bronchitis); arrived Melbourne, 5 July 1917, for onward travel to Sydney; discharged (medically unfit), 11 August 1917.
