Medals |
Distinguished Service Order 'For most conspicuous gallantry and determination during operations north east of Bellicourt, between 29th September and 1st October, 1918. On the first day, owing to casualties, he found himself in command of a company, and, though wounded, gained his objective for the day. That night he led a patrol forward to reconnoitre a strongly fortified farm. He gained valuable information, which enabled it to be rushed and captured the following morning. Three times wounded in these operations, he showed fine courage and devotion to duty, and rendered valuable service.'
