Wounded in action, 19-20 August 1916 (gun shot wound, thigh); admitted to 3rd Casualty Clearing Station, 23 August 1916, and transferred to Ambulance train No 19; admitted to 26th General Hospital, Etaples, 23 August 1916; transferred to England, 1 September 1916, and admitted to Wanstead Red Cross Hospital, Margate; transferred to Shorncliffe Military Hospital, 3 April 1917; to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, 14 May 1917; discharged on furlough, 25 May 1917, to report to Training Depot, Weymouth, 9 June 1917.
