Embarked, Sydney, 23 November 1915; taken on strength of 15th Bn, Tel-el-Kebir, Egypt, 6 March 1916; transferred to and taken on strength of 47th Bn, 7 March 1916.

Found guilty, 9 May 1916, Habeita, of (1) failing to comply with an order given by his superior officer in that when told to carry water he failed to do so: awarded 24 hours' Field Punishment No. 2.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 2 June 1916; disembarked, Marseilles, France, 9 June 1916.

Admitted to 1st Anzac M.D. Station (exhaustion), 18 November 1916; to 5th Australian Field Ambulance, 19 November 1916; rejoined unit, 28 November 1918.

Admitted to 9th Casualty Clearing Station (diarrhoea), 18 April 1917; discharged to duty, 24 April 1917; rejoined unit from hospital, 28 April 1917.

Admitted to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station (septic legs), Belgium, 14 June 1916; to 18th General Hospital, Camiers, France, 15 June 1916; to 6th Convalescent Depot, Etaples, 24 June 1917; to 5th Convalescent Depot, Cayeux, 29 June 1917; joined 4th Australian Divisional Base Depot from Hospital, Havre, 29 July 1917; marched out to unit, 12 August 1917; rejoined unit, Belgium, 14 August 1917.
