Wounded in action, 27 February 1917 (gun shot wound, abdomen); admitted to 1st Australian Field Ambulance, 29 February 1917; transferred to 45th Casualty Clearing Station, 28 February 1917; to Ambulance Train No 31, 2 March 1917, and admitted to St John Ambulance, Etaples; transferred to England, 9 March 1917, and admitted to Colchester General Hospital; discharged on furlough, 12 April 1917, to report to Training Depot, Perham Downs, 27 April 1917. Marched in to No 1 Command Depot, Perham Downs, 28 April 1917.
