Military Medal 'East of YPRES on the night of 25th/26th October, 1917 at ANZAC RIDGE - N.E. of WESTHOEK - the Battery position was very heavily shelled by 5.9's. A shell struck a Gun-Pit and set the ammunition alight. These men [DENSLEY and 4222 George FAWCETT] immediately went in and put out the exploding ammunition, saving about 1,000 rounds and also the Gun from being destroyed, by their promptness and gallantry.'
