Distinguished Service Order 'For distinguished gallantry, devotion toduty, and marked initiative at Nablus, on the 21st September, 1918. He was in charge of the advanced squadron, and by his initiative and dash he cleared the gardens covering the road of machine guns, which resulted in the capture of the town and many hundreds of prisoners. He led the charge through the town in person.'
