Meritorious Service Medal

'For consistent good work and devotion to duty. During the past fifteen months he has ben a Company Orderly Room clerk and has proved most efficient. Prior to being put into the Orderly Room he did good work in the line at GALLIPOLI, FLERS, BULLECOURT and YPRES. Although afflicted with very weak feet he has never failed to carry his pack and full equipment on every route march of the Battalion, though it was often evident that he was suffering for his commendable determination to 'stick it'. His conscientious work has contributed in a large measure to the efficient administration of his Company.'
