'During the attack on MT. ST. QUENTIN North of PERONNE on the 1st September 1918, after the Village had been captured, the advance was being delayed by many enemy strong posts which were still holding out. One of these posts, which was very strongly held, was responsible for many casualties to our men. Private Dobson, in the face of heavy enemy fire at close range, rushed forward and threw two bombs into the post. Both these bombs exploded, inflicting casualties on the enemy. In the confusion that followed our men were able to surround the crater, and take prisoner 10 Germans with 3 Machine Guns.'
