Joined 1st Bn at Gallipoli, 7 May 1915.

Wounded in action, 13 August 1915 (gun shot wound, eye), and admitted to 3rd Field Ambulance and thence to 1st Casualty Clearing Station; transferred to HS 'Salta', 14 August 1915, and disembarked Malta, 17 August 1915, and admitted to Hamrun Hospital.

Commenced return to Australia from Suez on board 'Kanowna', 20 October 1915; arrived Melbourne, 22 November 1915; discharged (medically unfit), 18 April 1916.

Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
