War service: Western Front Embarked Sydney, 19 June 1918; disembarked London, England, and marched in to 14th Training Bn, Codford, 26 August 1918; marched in to RBAA, Heytesbury, and mustered as Gunner, 7 October 1918. Proceeded overseas to France, 27 November 1918; marched in to Australian General Base Depot, Rouelles, 28 November 1918; transferred to 12th Australian Field Ambulance for duty, 4 December 1918; taken on strength of 112th Australian field Ambulance and posted to 112th Battery, 6 December 1918. Found guilty, 14 April 1919, of being absent from Parade: awarded 2 days' Field Punishment No 2. Marched out for return to Australia, 10 May 1919; marched out to England, 20 May 1919; marched in to No 4 Command Depot, Hurdcott, England, 21 May 1919. Found guilty, 12 June 1919, of being absent without leave from midnight, 9 June 1919 to 3:00 pm, 11 June 1919: awarded forfeiture of 4 days' pay.
