Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry in action. He rallied part of the infantry, and guided them over the captured positions under heavy fire when they were without leaders and disorganized. He helped materially to repel counter attacks.

This Officer took his M.G. section over with the attacking infantry, and had them in position in a very short space of time. He selected excellent defensive positions.
