Military Medal 'On the 11th/12th August, 1918, during operations on the SOMME, near PROYART, this N.C.O. assumed command of a Bombing Section after the Section leader had been wounded, and four times led it in attacks on active machine guns, killing or capturing the crew, and capturing the guns. After reaching his objective he made several journeys on either flank of the trench system with a couple of men, and returned with small batches of two or three prisoners on each occasion.'
