War service: marched in to Divisional Troops Depot, Tel el Kebir, Egypt, 9 July 1916. Marched out to 1st Light Horse Training Regiment, 24 July 1916. Transferred to Field Squadron, Moascar, 26 August 1916; taken on strength, 1st Field Squadron Engineers, Romani, 26 August 1916.

Admitted to 21st General Hospital, Port Said, 23 November 1916 (foreign body in eye); transferred to 14th Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 27 November 1916.
