Military Medal ''During the bombardment of our trenches near Cordonnerie Farm on the night of 30/31st May 1916, Lance Corporal (acting Cpl.) Edmunds displayed great gallantry. He personally carried to safety, under heavy shell fire, 7 men who had been rescued from the mines. These men were lying in an unconscious condition at the mine head and were exposed to heavy gun fire. He showed great coolness and courage and after completing the work of carrying the men to safety continued his work without reporting to anyone.'
