'For conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty during operations East of YPRES from 29th September to 5th October, 1917. Pte. EDWARDS, although acting as Brigade Battle Dump Storeman, volunteered for, led and guided different carrying parties continuously for seven days over the morass between Brigade Dump at WESTHOEK RIDGE and Brigade Battle Dump immediately behind the front line through heavy enemy barrage fire. His zeal and untiring efforts were in great part responsible for the keeping full of the Brigade Battle Dump which contributed to the success of the operation.'
