Proceeded overseas to France, 5 September 1916; joined 11th Bn, in the field, 16 September 1916.

Admitted to 2nd Australian Field Ambulance, 10 November 1916 (trench feet); transferred to 36th Casualty Clearing Station, 11 November 1916; to 2nd Canadian General Hospital, Le Treport, 13 November 1916; discharged to duty, 15 December 1916; rejoined Bn, in the field, 17 January 1917.

Admitted to 1/1 South Midland Casualty Clearing Station, 26 January 1917 (tachycardia); transferred same day to 11th Stationary Hospital, Rouen; 29 January 1917; to No 2 Convalescent Depot, Rouen, 6 February 1917; discharged to duty, 24 February 1917.
