Meritorious Service Medal 'During the period under rview, this N.C.O. has been in charge of the Brigade Snipers Section and has shown gret keenness and initiative in the execution of his duties. His line work has been excellent and it is largely due to his efforts and resourcefulness in dealing with enemy snipers that our casualties from this cause have been negligible. During the consolidation of our new positions after the attacks of 20th September, 1917, and 4th October, 1917, heavy casualties were inflicted on the enemy owing to the well organized sniping of the above section.'
