Military Medal 'For devotion to duty and courageous work during an enemy attack on our lines near ALBERT on April 5th 1918. This N.C.O. rallied his section under heavy Artillery and machine gun fire, led them across the railway embankment to a position in front. He then directed the fire of his section on to the enemy with good effect, and inspired his men by his excellent example.'
