Embarked Adelaide on HMAT 'Borda', 23 June 1915; taken on strength of unit from 6th Reinforcements, 4 August 1915.

Admitted to 2nd Field Ambulance BD Station, 23 August 1915, and transferred to 1st Casualty Clearing Station (dysentry); transferred to Mudros, 23 August 1915. Embarked Mudros on HS 'Ascanius', 27 August 1915; disembarked Malta, 31 August 1915; admitted to St. Patrick's Hospital, Malta, 14 September 1915; discharged to Ghain Tufficha Camp, 28 September 1915.

Found guilty at Ghain Tufficha, 31 October 1915, of (1) creating a disturbance, (2) striking a non-commissioned officer, (3) resisting escort at the camp: awarded 14 days' Field Punishment No 1.

Disembarked Alexandria from HMT 'Mars', 4 December 1915, and marched into Overseas Base, Gezireh.

Admitted to 2nd Australian General Hospital, Gezireh, 9 December 1915; transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 9 December 1915 (rheumatism, frost bite); to Ras-el-Tin Hospital, Alexandria, 11 December 1915; discharged to duty, 15 January 1916; rejoined unit from hospital, Tel-el-Kebir, 18 January 1916. Transferred to 50th Bn, Serapeum, 26 February 1916, and taken on strength , 27 February 1916; struck off strength as being medically unfit, 24 April 1916.

Admitted to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 25 April 1916; transferred to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Cairo, 15 May 1916 (rheumatism).

Embarked Suez and commenced return to Australia on HT 'Port Sydney', 24 June 1916; disembarked Melbourne, 22 July 1916. Discharged Adelaide, 18 August 1916.
