Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On the night of 15th October, 1917, whilst taking ammunition to his battery position near ZONNEBEKE (east of YPRES), the teams came under very heavy shell fire. By his promptness in taking control of teams in his vicinity, driver FISHER prevented congestion on the road, maintained steadiness, and got the ammunition forward safely, thereby setting a fine example to all ranks present.'
