Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in the attack at FRAMERVILLE near AMIENS on the 9th August, 1918. Advancing with the 18th Australian Infantry Battalion in the afternoon under intense and concentrated machine gun fire, Fitzpatrick went forward with another soldier and recovered the gun, tripod, etc. of a team that had been knocked out. By getting this gun into position he materially assisted in strengthening the line.'
