Embarked Sydney, 30 October 1916; disembarked Plymouth, England, 10 January 1917, and joined 6th Training Bn. Proceeded to France through Folkestone, 28 March 1917; marched into 2nd Australian General Base Depot, Etaples, 29 March 1917.

Found guilty, 14 April 1917, of being out of bounds: awarded 6 days' confinement to quarters; taken on strength of 24th Battalion, 20 April 1917.

Reported missing, 3 May 1917. Court of Inquiry, 14 December 1917, determined fate as killed in action, 3 May 1917.
