Embarked Melbourne, 26 November 1917; disembarked Suez, 27 December 1917. Embarked Port Said, 9 January 1918; disembarked Taranto, Italy, 20 January 1918; entrained Taranto, 24 January 1918; detrained Cherbourg, France, 31 January 1918. Proceeded to England; disembarked Southampton, 2 February 1918, and marched in to 15th Training Bn, Codford, and transferred to 57th Bn.

Transferred to Machine Gun Details Training Depot, Grantham, 10 April 1918.

Proceeded overseas to France, 18 June 1918; taken on strength, 5th Machine Gun Bn, 22 June 1918.

Appointed Driver, 24 January 1919.

On leave to Paris, 15 March 1919; rejoined Bn from leave, 25 March 1919.

Marched out to agricultural course, Sutton Veny, England, 8 April 1919, and reverted to Private.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Friedsrichsruh', 8 July 1919; disembarked Melbourne, 1 September 1919; discharged, Melbourne, 25 September 1919.
