Military Medal 'At VILLERS BRETONNEUX, during the period of the 24th/28th April, 1918, FLYNN showed fine courage and initiative. His cheerfulness also set a splendid example to the men. He displayed great gallantry during the morning of the 25th April, 1918. With two men he held the bridge over the railway line bordering on the enemy front line, when attacked by a large party of the enemy, until his party was reinforced. Corporal FLYNN also went out and tended a wounded runner under a most severe bombardment and brought him back to safety. This N.C.O.'s courage deserves special recognition.'
