Meritorious Service Medal 'For continuous good service and devotion to duty. Quartermaster Sergeant FORSTER has been untiring in his duty, under very strenuous and adverse conditions, in regard to the welfare of the Units of this Brigade. He has been with his Unit continuously since its formation, and taken part in all actions in which the Brigade has been. During the fighting at MESSINES in June 1917, WARNETON July and August, 1917, and again in the heavy fighting near PASSCHENDAELE in October, 1917, he took a prominent part in the successful working of the pack transport in getting ammunition and supplies to the troops in the line, at great personal risk without fear, working at times right through the day and night continuously, and always set a fine example to all near him of devotion to duty. As Brigade Quartermaster Sergeant he has rendered very valuable service and assistance throughout the whole period of his service in FRANCE.'
