Meritorious Service Medal 'For consistently good work during every operation in which his unit participated from 25th February to 16th September, 1918, especially his excellent work in the operation east of PROYART on 23rd August, 1918. This N.C.O. has at all times set the highest example to his fellow N.C.O.s and men. During operations he has frequently been in charge of his sub-section of the Battery and at all times has performed his duties efficiently and well.'
