Marched in to 4th Australian Division Base Depot, Etaples, France, 24 September 1916; proceeded to join unit, 24 September 1916; taken on strength of 15th Bn, 4 October 1916.

Admitted to 4th Australian Field Ambulance, 29 May 1917 (sick); transferred to 2nd Australian General Hospital, Wimeriux, 30 May 1917; to England, 31 May 1917; admitted to Northampton War Hospital, Duston, England, 1 June 1917 (influenza); discharged from hospital and granted leave, 23 July 1917.

Marched in to Perham Downs Command Depot, 7 August 1917; transferred to overseas Training Bn, 15 August 1917; proceeded overseas and marched in to Havre, France, 5 September 1917; marched out to unit, 14 September 1917; rejoined 15th Bn, 16 September 1917.

Killed in action, Belgium, 15 October 1917.
