Military Medal 'During the operations on 11th August, 1918 against RAINECOURT, East of AMIENS, this N.C.O. displayed great courage and initiative in attacking any enemy position which was causing casualties to the troops digging in on the objective line. Accompanied by Corporal BOWEN he rushed a snipers position in broad daylight, killing two of the garrison with a bomb and capturing three who were wounded. His companion was wounded by a bullet while rushing the post.'
