Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. The battalion had to advance to its final objective, a distance of 4,000 yards, thought dense fog. This officer, who was Adjutant, superintended the movement, and guided the battalion in good formation to its destination. He was largely responsible for the success of the operation, as, regardless of personal danger, he was always at hand to keep the C.O. informed of the general situation.'
