Disembarked from HT ‘Runic’, Alexandria, 26 February 1916; marched into Zeitoun, 26 February 1916; taken on strength of 20th Bn, Moascar, 15 March 1916.

Embarked Alexandria on HMT ‘Ingoma’ and proceeded to join the British Expeditionary Force, 18 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 25 March 1916.

Admitted to 7th Australian Field Ambulance, 5 June 1916 (dilated action, heart); transferred to 8th Casualty Clearing Station, 6 June 1916; to 13th General Hospital, Boulogne, 7 June 1916. Embarked Boulogne on HS ‘Cumbria’ and proceeded to England for further treatment, 10 June 1916; admitted to 1st General Hospital, 10 June 1916; marched into No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 31 August 1916.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT ‘Kanowna’, 9 September 1916; disembarked Sydney, 28 October 1916; discharged on account of being medically unfit for continued service, 16 November 1916 (neurasthenia).
