Military Medal 'At WESTHOEK RIDGE 20th September 1917. For conspicuous gallantry in the way in which he carried out his duties as N.C.O. in charge of the moppers up. On one occasion he led his party with great initiative and dash against an enemy strong post, killing two and taking 13 enemy prisoners. he was an excellent example of coolness and daring.'
