Medaille militaire (France) 'For conspicuous good service and devotion to duty. On 11th October, 1917, succeeded in fitting an Engine Charging Station up to SANS SOUCI on the YPRES Routes Railway through a heavily shelled area, and erecting the same. His work necessitated his passing backwards and forwards through heavy shelling for 3 days carrying up stores. Throughout the operations at YPRES from September to November, 1917, and previously did consistent good work.'
