Military Medal 'During operations before MESSINES on 7th/8th June 1917, this N.C.O. acted as linesman to Battery Forward Observing Officer and under heavy shell fire showed great pluck and determination in maintaining his lines to Battery position. He set a very fine example to his comrades.'
