Military Medal 'On the morning of the 8th August, 1918 during the attack on the WARFUSEE line east of AMIENS, an enemy machine gun greatly hampered the advance. This soldier on his own initiative outflanked, and bombed the gun shingle handed, which he captured, killing the crew of five. During the following three days in the advance on RAINECOURT, he showed an unequalled example to the remainder of his platoon.'
