Military Medal 'For conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty at BROODSEINDE RIDGE East of YPRES ON 4TH OCTOBER, 1917. PTE. JONES was a Company Stretcher Bearer. During the assembly prior to the attack in spite of great personal danger he dressed and carried to safety numerous wounded. When the Company had consolidated he continued to attend to wounded in the open under heavy shell fire. His excellent work and devotion to duty were the means of saving many lives and had the greatest effect on the morale of the troops with whom he associated.'
