Military Medal 'On 30th September, 1917, and 1st October, 1917, at The Mount, POLYGON WOOD, near YPRES he continued to carry timber under observation from the enemy. Though three times wounded he refused to rest until the work was completed. He was subjected to heavy shell fire and continual sniping. His cheerful devotion to duty set a very fine example.'
