'During the attack North of ROSIERES on the 9th August 1918 Corporal KENYON was in charge of the two Lewis Gun Sections. He did invaluable work throughout the advance reconnoitring forward and locating enemy machine guns which he then proceeded to hold down by fire from his Lewis gun while the troops advanced and rushed them. When the objective was reached he went forward with a patrol and Lewis Gun to cover the consolidation. He engaged several strong parties of Germans and dispersed them, besides rushing and mopping up several pockets of the enemy who were in position close to our line. Throughout the whole operation this N.C.O. did invaluable work and set a spendid example of courage and initiative.'
